City & Sea
August 21- September 14
Cate Charles Gallery
with inquiries contact: Kim Charles

"Empty spaces, full of sensations"

City and Sea: Perspectives,” will be the first solo artist exhibition in the new Providence location for Cate Charles Gallery.

“The exhibit juxtaposes two distinct bodies of work, that reflect a personal perspective on place and home: Stark and dramatic  industrial spaces  to the fluid motion of the sea,” explains Charles. “The same opposing forces are present in her process, where she works on the edge between realism and abstraction, freedom and control, pushing and pulling the pigment. I’m excited to bring Annie’s reflective work to the gallery and share with viewers a new perspective for viewing familiar environments.”

Cate Charles Gallery is open Wednesday – Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Monday, Tuesday and evenings by appointment. The gallery is also open for Gallery Night Providence on the third Thursday of every month.
