I was going through my flat files in the studio and I came across this print portfolio that I love !. It's a collection of prints that we made during Dan Welden's printmaking workshop up at Haystack School of Crafts, Deer Isle, Maine. back in 2014.

It was a wonderful group of students and we bonded well. So much so that at the end of the week we all decided to participate in a print portfolio including Dan and myself. We each editioned 11 of our best prints for the portfolio and one of the student was a book binder, so she generously agreed to make portfolio to hod the prints. Such a lovely memento of our week, and a great wat to collect art!

An invitation to paint in Maine

Join myself, Ard Berg and Jon Volk, when we return to paint In Maine again this summer!

Through the New York Academy of Art’s Continuing Education program we invite you to join us for a “Painting Acadia Plein Air retreat-workshop”. 8 days of painting, 7 nights lodging, 6 days of 3 square meals, presentations, optional instruction, and fun! all for $1,445 per person. Open to any budding beginners or experiences Plein Air painters.

Spring Brings New Work

Spring has kept me busy painting new work for up coming shows. The first of which is ' Vista' on view this month at the Union Arts Center, Sparkill, NY

I'm thrilled to be exhibiting with the talented Hillary McCarthy and Melanie Vote!

June 19-26 I'll be in my element painting Plein Air at Schoodic Point, Acadia National Park, Maine. Led by Ard Berge with John Volk, and a group of enthusiastic painters! Can't wait to try out my new equipment and unplug! See you on the other side with a bunch of new studies and happy memories.

I'll share my experiences later in the summer when I have time to process and compile some images ;-) Until then happy summer holidays everyone!

It may not feel like it now but summer will be here before we know it, and it's not too soon to start dreaming and planning your creative adventures. I'm excited to be returning this summer to two wonderful locations. Want to join me?

Painting Acadia: Plein Air
June 19-26, 2016
Schoodic Point Acadia National Park, Maine

I'll be returning to Schoodic Point this summer as a visiting artist along with John Volk in this plein air art retreat lead by Ard Berge

Be inspired by the rocky coasts and forests of Maine’s Acadia National Park in this plein air landscape painting retreat led by Ard Berge. Over seven days, explore nature drawing, the colors of sunlight on surf, and quick painting on locations mined by Thomas Cole and Frederic Edwin Church. The retreat fees include meals and shared housing at Schoodic Institute inside Acadia National Park as well as five days of instruction with additional presentations from Visiting Artists John Volk and Annie Wildey.

Dan is a wonderful teacher with a lifetime of experience, and what better place than the OMEGA INSTITUTE to explore your creativity and awareness? Whether you sign up for two days solarplate printmaking and or 5 days of monoprinting, it will be an adventure to create without expectations. Develop your sense of observation, confidence and hone your artistic abilities….no matter what level you are. A complete studio with several presses will provide a congenial working atmosphere for you to enjoy the process with new tools and exciting color.
All in the holistic and inspiring setting of the Omega institute!
